This year marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin. Before that, being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes was usually a death sentence. But even a century after the breakthrough for type 1 diabetics, we still don’t have a great treatment for type 2 diabetes. Luckily, there’s some promising new research out from a group of scientists that includes Benjamin Rehnquist, a professor of animal and biomedical sciences at the University of Arizona.
