More than three months since Hurricane Maria hit the island and a third of Puerto Ricans are still without electricity. Many thousands have left for the mainland. Charles Venator-Santiago is a native of Puerto Rico and a professor of political science and Latin American studies at the University of Connecticut where he’s leading several initiatives to support Puerto Ricans on the island and here on the mainland.
