Losing the Sharks

The number of sharks found in the open ocean has dropped dramatically in the last 50 years. A new analysis published in the journal Nature estimates three-quarters of all sharks and rays are at risk of extinction. Marine ecologist Nicholas Dulvy is one of the study’s co-authors.
