Guest: Eric Jensen, Professor at BYU’s Reuben Clark Law School  Obama looks to Congress for an approval to wage a war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. “This makes me think he might be contemplating much more serious activity against ISIS. He has in his mind, he cannot win this war without US ground troops,” says Jensen, “and he wants to go back to congress to get them. He is clearly seeking an operation to use the US military to carry out this task.”  “A hostage taking is clearly against the law. It’s an unfortunate but emerging principle that some of these violent extremist are using as a leverage to further their influence,” says Jensen.

Guest: Jody Anderson, author of Hockey Mom’s Aren’t Crazy…Well Maybe a Little!   “The best way to get back at a player, instead of a fist to the neck, is a puck in the net,” says Anderson.  Anderson went on to describe the expense of the sport and how it was all worth it, “Now that my kids are all grown up, they aren’t looking for a bar to hang out at, they’re looking for a pick-up game. Guest: Patrick Cook-Deegan, Mindfulness Instructor  “Usually when it sticks is when a teenager has one instance outside of the class that changes their life,” says Cook-Deegan.   “As a young guy, I got mad all the time, I used to break things, get really mad, similar to the kids I teach. Mindfulness helps you recognize the feeling,” says Cook-Deegan, “and then allows you to respond. I think of it like an oncoming train. You can see a train coming in, you can let the train hit you (get really angry) or you can move off the tracks.”

Brad Oates, Former NFL Player & Co-managing Partner and Chairman of Stone Advisors LP  “Sometimes they live in a bubble and everyone around them enforces that bubble and their moral compass gets thrown out the window,” says Oates on ethics.  “In a media driven world, where the mantra is ‘winning is everything’ and losing is looked down upon and it’s a winner take all society, it’s no wonder all these athletes are going to these extreme unethical lengths,” says Oates.
