The process of making concrete is a major contributor to global carbon dioxide emissions. But an interesting solution to this problem is injecting CO2 back into the concrete for long-term storage. And a side benefit to this strategy is that carbonated concrete is also more flexible. Victor Li developed this flexible concrete at the University of Michigan, where he teaches civil and environmental engineering.
