Teaching Kids to be “Taste Explorers” This Holiday

The last thing you probably want in preparation for a feast like Thanksgiving is to have kids underfoot in the kitchen. But holiday meal prep might be the perfect time to engage your kids’ interest in cooking. And with the right approach, parents can harness that fascination to help kids learn to make healthier food choices—and maybe even be less picky eaters. The nonprofit Spoons Across America has adapted its elementary school cooking curriculum for home use. James Grosso, Spoons Across America’s executive director, discusses the curriculum, which he’s named The Food Exploration Project.
