Top of Mind with Julie Rose • Season 1, Episode 1739, Segment 5Nov 25, 2021 • 20m
The 400th anniversary of Thanksgiving means it’s been 401 years since the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. City governments over in the UK have spent the anniversary year throwing a huge celebration to commemorate the Mayflower’s voyage. The festivities include a dragon, an autonomous ship, and a hip-hop festival. Why do folks in Britain would care about the Pilgrims enough to throw a celebration? Charles Hackett is based in Plymouth, England. He's CEO of the Mayflower 400 event and explains why the British care so much about it.
