Scientists in eight US states are actively manipulating the weather: they’re trying to get it to rain or snow by shooting silver iodide up into the clouds. It’s called cloud seeding and could help fight the effects of climate change. Jeffrey French, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Wyoming, studies cloud seeding.
