Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was not following the proper procedures he’d been trained to do when he knelt on the neck of George Floyd for more than nine minutes, according to new testimony from his trial. So, what kind of training would actually work to prevent unnecessary deaths in police encounters?
