How to Be a Cool Mom (50:59) If you have a daughter, it’s easy to look at her and see a best friend, someone you can confide in, rely on, and have fun with. While mothers and daughters have a special connection and should enjoy life together, it’s important to remember that you’re still her mother and not her peer. Adena Bank Lees says that it’s cool to be your daughter’s mother, and even though she may want you to be her best friend, it’s not the best thing for her. Adena Bank Lees is a licensed social worker, author, and international speaker. Overcoming Challenges (1:09:25) When Carol Decker was pregnant with her second daughter, she became ill with sepsis that would eventually leave her blind and a triple amputee. In the time since, Carol has become a motivational speaker, traveling and speaking to universities, churches, and hospitals, about the power of persistence and the fact that attitude really is everything. She joins us to discuss how she overcame her challenges, and how we can too.
