A fan of the Disney movie “Ratatouille” named Emily Jacobsen posted a little love song to Remy the rat chef on TikTok. A composer on Tik Tok named Daniel Mertzlufft took the tune and gave it some Broadway pizzazz. That went viral and a cascade of other Tik Tok users chimed in with their own songs for #RatatouilleMusical –which wasn’t an actual musical, just a fun distraction. Then a digital production company put all the pieces together with a cast of Broadway stars including Tituss Burgess from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in the role of Remy. “Ratatouille: The Tik Tok Musical” started streaming online in early January and has raised more than $2 million for charity.
