Many immigrants who come to the US change their name to sound more “American” and make it easier to pronounce for English speakers. But our names are important to our identity and can be tied to our family history, culture, and religion. That’s why inclusion strategist Ruchika Tulshyan says people shouldn’t have to change their name to make it easier –we need to work on pronouncing names correctly.
