Standardized Testing

Public schools in all 50 states skipped out end-of-year standardized tests last spring because the pandemic had thrown such a sudden wrench in schooling. But this year, the US Department of Education says standardized testing must happen–though states can opt to push the tests to the summer or fall and explore ways to do them remotely. Lorrie Shepard is a professor of research and evaluation methods at the University of Colorado Boulder.
