It’s not cheap for prisoners to keep in contact with family members on the outside, with a 15-minute phone call costing $5-15 or more depending on the jail or prison. But a couple of graduate students at Yale, including Uzoma Orchingwa, have started up the non-profit organization Ameelio to make communication completely free.
