It’s a pain both emotional and physical, though its intensity differs depending on your gender. That’s the finding of a new study published in the journal “Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences.”

For eight years in the mid-nineties, it contributed to such a huge drop in youth violence, it’s been dubbed “The Boston Miracle.” Today, the effort has been retooled for new challenges in the nation’s urban centers. “Season of Peace” is what Brown and his colleagues are calling the program.
