The home of Medgar Evans–a civil rights advocate who was murdered in his driveway by a member of the KKK in 1963–is one of the recommended stops on the Civil Rights Trail. There are plenty of stops from Montgomery, AL, to Washington, D.C. It's all detailed in a new guidebook by Deborah Douglas, a visiting professor of journalism at DePauw University. The book is called “U.S. Civil Rights Trail: A Traveler’s Guide to the People, Places, and Events That Made the Movement.” CORRECTION: During this live radio interview, Deborah Douglas misspoke when saying that David Jordan attended the trial for the murder of Medgar Evers. Jordan was at the trial over the murder of Emmet Till.
