The job of the First Lady comes with no official duties. Not every spouse of the President of the United States has even been considered important enough to have an official portrait made. The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery showcased a special exhibit of all of the First Ladies' paintings that do exist. University of Pennsylvania art history professor Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw curated the exhibit called called “Every Eye Is Upon Me.” (Segment produced by Haley Kendall) (Photo Credit: "Every Eye Is Upon Me: First Ladies of the United States")
