Some of the people who get COVID-19 experience shortness of breath for a long time after they recover, to the point that their daily activities may suffer. A group of these so-called “COVID long haulers” has found some relief through a program sponsored by the English National Opera. They’re taught how to breathe more like an opera singer—and they learn to sing a bit while they’re at it. The English National Opera’s COVID-19 program director Jenny Mollica discusses their work.
