Cosmic DustTop of Mind with Julie Rose • Season 1, Episode 1544, Segment 4
Mar 1, 2021 • 16m
The new Mars Rover, Perseverance, is collecting rock and soil samples to send back to Earth so scientists can look for signs of life. But on a regular basis, space rocks come to us on their own – hundreds of meteorites crash through Earth’s atmosphere every year, and on an even tinier scale, countless grains of dust are falling from space all around us. Geologist Matthew Genge of Imperial College London studies this space dust.
