There are salmon in the creeks that run through Seattle neighborhoods and alongside roads. But after a big rain, those salmon routinely turn up seriously sick–and eventually die. Jenifer McIntyre is a professor of Aquatic Toxicology at Washington State University, and she led the team that cracked the case of the sick and dying Coho salmon in Seattle’s city creeks.
