Women and children make up the fastest growing groups of homeless people in the United States. Nearly 90% of all homeless families are led by young single mothers. As the cost of living steadily increases, single mothers are finding it increasingly more difficult to financially stay afloat. So, what can we do to help support this vulnerable demographic and prevent this statistic from getting higher? Today we want to highlight an organization in California that is dedicated to breaking the homeless cycle for women with children. Acres of Hope is a spiritually based renewal center that provides a safe family environment and a healthy living program for women with children. Here to teach us more about their program is the executive director Lisa Risdal.
