Nov 12, 2021 • 22m
A disease called Lewy body dementia is the second-most common type of degenerative dementia after Alzheimer's. But it's a lot less well-understood. Comedian Robin Williams had it when he died. The symptoms can seem strange—things like hallucinations and paranoia, loss of smell, and even constipation. That leads to a lot of confusion for patients and doctors. University of Florida neurology professor Melissa Armstrong discusses her efforts to help patients with Lewy Body Dementia get an accurate diagnosis.
