Politics can be a source of stress and anxiety for many people. And it can be difficult to bring up with friends and family in fear of disrupting any social harmony. So, it makes sense that people with anxiety about politics would turn to their therapists for help. But is it a good idea to discuss politics with your therapist, or should you be limiting your time discussing personal issues? What happens when politics and personal issues coincide? It becomes confusing knowing what you can and can’t talk to your therapist about when it comes to politics. Here to help us examine some of these questions is Mick Cooper, a licensed therapist and a professor of psychology at the University of Roehampton.
