It’s not cheap for prisoners to keep in contact with family members on the outside. A 15-minute phone call could cost 5 to 15 dollars or more depending on the jail or prison. But a couple of graduate students at Yale have started up a non-profit organization called Ameelio to make it completely free. Ameelio CEO Uzoma Orchingwa spoke about disrupting the prison phone industry.
