They’re from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” Did you know that surrealist painter Salvador Dalí illustrated a copy? Special Collections has his version—which makes the strange tale even “curiouser and curiouser.” The BYU holdings also include an 1886 edition with the original illustrations by John Tenniel.
