Goertz Chair, Department of Environmental, Science, Policy, and Management, University of California, Berkeley It wasn’t until the dinosaurs died out some 65 million years ago that scientists believe the Earth’s smaller, furry creatures started feeling bold enough to venture out during daylight hours.
