As we’ve spent the last several days reflecting on the legacy of the 9/11 terror attacks, psychologist George Bonanno’s perspective caught our eye. He studies how trauma affects people, and he says 9/11 fundamentally changed his field. Researchers tracking the symptoms of post-traumatic stress in New Yorkers during the months after the terrorist attacks found a surprising trend.
