Managed Retreat

A new report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that the world is on track for increasingly catastrophic fires, droughts, floods, and storms. What can communities do to prepare for extreme weather like that? Disaster researcher A. R. Siders proposes “managed retreat” as a solution.
