Thrift ResellingTop of Mind with Julie Rose • Season 1, Episode 1597, Segment 3
May 12, 2021 • 16m
Young people are reselling thrift clothes on social media for huge markups. They're catching flak for “gentrifying” thrifting at the expense of people who shop secondhand out of financial necessity. The real scandal here though is much deeper and rooted in the history of thrift stores in America. Jennifer Le Zotte has studied that story - she's a professor of history at UNC-Wilmington.
