It’s sometimes the people you are closest with that can be the most difficult to have hard conversations with. We can get worried about sharing news that disappoints, hurt those we know the best, or even create wedges that last entire lifetimes. The more you love someone, the more that is at stake when wanting to talk about issues you may not exactly agree on. So how we have productive conversations with family that allows us to be true to ourselves while still respecting the other side? Today we are talking with one of our good friends Emily Taylor, a certified mediator, conflict coach, and assistant director of BYU’s Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution. She is also the author of “Raising Mediators: How Smart Parents Use Mediation to Transform Sibling Conflict and Empower their Children.”
