On average, about 132 people commit suicide each day in the US, and since the pandemic, suicide rates have only increased. But having the conversation about mental illness and suicide is heavy, and extremely difficult. So how can we talk with those we know are struggling? And how can we help them and others find the right resources and help to recover? Today we are talking with Michelle Ramirez, the South Texas Chapter Board Chair of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The AFSP is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community to take action against this leading cause of death.
