How does a movie create a sport that fans get so invested in that they’ll go to any lengths to play it? While you may be familiar with the recreation of Quidditch from the Harry Potter series, we’re talking about a different film-inspired sport that is rising in popularity! Inspired by the 1989 Australian-American film “The Blood of Heroes,” or as it’s known in Australia “The Salute of the Jugger,” Jugger is a sport that could be described as a healthy blend of dodgeball, football, and fencing!? To help us understand the sport is one of the founding members of Colorado’s Jugger League, Miguel Alvarado!
