In our culture,we often callstories either “traditional” or “personal.” Old or new. Immediate or outdated. Deep or frivolous. But what if there was no such thing as atrulyold story? What if astory is like a phoenix. It glows brightly as it passes between a teller and a listener, leaves an imprint in the mind’s eye, and dissolves to ashes, leaving only a spark. This spark can be saved –bottled up in a heart, or a memory chip, but only whenwe tell it or play it back is the phoenixborn anew, igniting the air carrying it beforeroosting inthe heart of a listener. Today we journey with Willy Claflin, Brian “Fox” Ellis, andDovieThomason as they tell some old stories and some new ones, but all in their own new way.
