Binge-Watching Snacks (0:00:00) Odds are, if you’re watching tv, you’re craving something to munch on. We’re Talkin’ ‘Bout Snacks with Josh and Amy, and we’re bringing you ideas for the best things to snack on while binge-watching your favorite shows. Josh Bingham is our sweet expert, who would eat dessert for every meal of the day if he could. And Amy Biedel is our savory expert, who believes that dill pickles are the only true pickles. The Resilience Toolkit (0:09:34) As you see your kids hop on the bus to school in the morning, you might be reminded that you won’t always be by their side to help them when they face challenges. That’s why it’s so important that they build the skills they need to stand up for themselves. Resilience is one of those necessary skills, and today we want to talk about how we can help teach our kids to be resilient. Calvert F. Cazier and Anne Evans Cazier are the authors of "The Resiliency Toolkit," and they’re with us in the studio to share how we can teach our kids resilience. Conflict in the Workplace (0:30:40) What do you do when your kids are fighting? You separate them into separate corners so they stop bugging each other. But dealing with conflict as an adult can be a little more difficult, especially when it involves people you can’t get away from because you work with them every day. So what can you do when there’s a conflict causing tension at work? We have Emily Taylor back with us. Emily is a mediator and conflict resolution expert at the BYU Center for Conflict Resolution, and she’s here to share what we can do to deal with conflict in the workplace. How to Tell a Story (0:50:08) Some people are great story tellers, others can put you to sleep with even the most thrilling tale. What does it take to be a truly great story teller—and how can we improve our own story telling skills? Here to help us out is storyteller extraordinaire: Sam Payne of BYU Radio's The Appleseed! The Benefits of Dark Chocolate (1:05:21) Dark chocolate. We’ve all heard of its magic powers to help us lose weight, curb cravings, and fulfill our dessert needs. But how much of this is true?Laura Silver is a registered dietitian-nutritionist who has a passion for helping people enjoy real, whole foods –without totally compromising on the foods they love. With her expansive expertise on dessert, she joins us to dissect the idea of dark chocolate. Mini Book Club: Librarian Requests (1:20:30) Rachel Wadham, of BYU Radio's Worlds Awaiting, discusses the books that people tend to request from librarians, and how we can find the perfect book with their help. Hair Dye (1:28:13) A fresh hair color doesn’t just elevate your style but it can also boost your mood. Although changing your hair color may seem like a simple task, there are many decisions that come with it. The right amount of color, the shade, and whether to dye it in the salon or at home are just a few of these decisions Michelle Lindsay is a hair stylist, color expert, and an instructor for L’oreal Professionnel, and she’s here to help us better understand the hair dying process.
