Weekend Chores (0:00:00) Lisa and Richie talk about what they plan to get done this weekend, and how they’ll manage their to-do lists. Relationships with Emotionally Unavailable People (0:15:39) There’s no better feeling than knowing you are completely understood and accepted by another person, especially your significant other. Being able to explain to your loved one how you feel and then to have them look you in the eyes and support you is truly one of best parts of any relationship. But unfortunately, this dynamic doesn’t always exist between couples. Many of us at one time or another struggle with feeling like our significant other is emotionally unavailable to us. So, we invited Dr. Holly Parker, clinical psychologist and teacher of Psychology of Close Relationships at Harvard University, to help us reconnect with our partner’s emotions. The Kindness Givers’ Formula (0:34:27) We are surrounded by news of people doing horrible things to each other, but small moments of kindness can make all the difference. But still, it can seem so hard to be kind on a daily basis when everyone around us can act like they’re trying to make life harder. So what can we do? We’re joined by Randy McNeely to help us figure out how to bring more kindness into our lives. Randy is the author of the book, “The Kindness Givers’ Formula: Four Simple Steps for Making a Transformational Difference for Good.” Swap Meets and Flea Markets (0:50:38) It’s getting a little warmer outside—which I am definitely here for. And one of my favorite things about the warm weather is outdoor markets. Places like swap meets, flea markets or garage sales where we can find great pieces for cheap prices! The problem is, if you’re new to this kind of shopping, it can be so overwhelming! So, we invited an expert on flea markets and swap meets, Amy Mings, to share her insider tips and help us navigate these markets in the best way possible. Finding Creativity in Every Day (1:04:55) We all know an artist or a musician that just owns their creative field. When we think about being creative ourselves, these people make it seem impossible for us to be creative at all, especially with how busy we are. So how can we incorporate creativity in our everyday lives? Shelli Spotts has a Masters of Fine Arts with an emphasis on Creative Nonfiction. On top of that, she’s a seamstress, violinist, crafter, caterer, wedding cake creator, and more. With her expertise in fitting in creativity into her already crazy schedule, we thought she’d be the perfect person to talk with about this. Weekend Review (1:24:45) Lisa and Richie talk about what’s happening this weekend, from new movies and shows to what’s going on in your community.
