?It's always a pleasure to be present for the birth of a brand new storytelling festival. On this episode of the Apple Seed, Sam highlights some of the storytellers, musicians, and organizers that will bring the first annual Old Capitol Storytelling Festival to the stage. Unlike many festivals, the Old Capitol Storytelling Festival focuses on tales and songs associated with a particular place: Utah's first territorial capitol. Tellers at the festival include Sam himself, as well as Emmy-winning documentarian and producer Ken Verdoia, past president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Maurine Smith, Native American storyteller and musician Nino Reyos, celebrated songwriters Cherie Call and Lyndy Butler, and festival organizer Clive Romney.
