Welcome to The Apple Seed! Some time filled with stories for you and your family. Since 2013 we’ve been bringing you tall tales, personal tales, fairy tales, historical tales and more. All kinds of tales, from all kinds of tellers. Many people view promises in many different ways. In many a cowboy movie, a simple handshake was enough to seal an agreement in stone. Spy movies, on the other hand, hold many empty promises, betrayals, and treachery. Ideally, everyone would keep their promises, but that’s unfortunately not the case. That’s why we have to sign documents when we promise to pay back a loan, or to seal a contract of any kind. The sad reality is that some people have no intention of keeping their promises, even while making them. There are some promises, however, that should never be broken because the consequences would simply be too great. We have some stories about broken promises today, along with many others from tellers like Bil Lepp, Dan Keding, and more. On today’s episode, enjoy the following: “The Banjo Player of Franceville” by Dan Keding from Promises Kept, Promises Broken (4:46) The Daily Mix: “Turn to Stone” with Mark Wait (18:04) “Kate Crackernuts” by Mary Hamilton from Sisters All...And One Troll (26:39) “The King of Little Things” by Bil Lepp from King of Little Things (47:05)
