EXTRA **** George McEwan and the Utah Liars Contest

A lot of our favorite storytellers -- especially those who specialize in tall tales (we'd never say "lies," would we?) cut their teeth in regional liars contests; there's a big one in West Virginia, one in Texas, and one in Utah each April, sponsored by the Timpanogos Storytelling Institute. In today's Apple Seed Extra, enjoy a story by George McEwan -- a tall tale about cats, with which he won his sixth Utah Liars Contest. It was recorded back when people could all get together.
