Disability Access

Efforts over the last decade to recruit more diverse students into scientific fields have brought some improvement. But a recent report by the National Science Foundation finds these diversity efforts have largely overlooked the needs of people with disabilities. Engineers and scientists with a disability are also more likely to be unemployed compared to the general public. Neuroscience researcher Joey Ramp founded her own consulting firm, Empower Ability Consulting, in 2018 to help students with disabilities overcome barriers at their universities.
