Turns out children watching at school were the largest audience to view that disaster live.  Bringing Columbia Home Guests: Mike Leinbach, NASA’s final Space Shuttle Launch Director at the Kennedy Space Center; Jonathan Ward, author, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and executive coach at the Center for Creative Leadership. Both are co-authors of “Bringing Columbia Home: The Untold Story of a Lost Space Shuttle and Her Crew” On February 1, 2003, the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated on re-entry, killing all seven astronauts aboard and scattering debris over rural areas in East Texas.
