Imagine it’s evening. You’ve left the screen door open because it’s so nice outside. But there’s such a loud, drilling hum wafting in the door that you can’t hear a thing from the TV. If you go outside, you’ll be greeted by a mega-chorus of cicadas. This is life during cicada season. This year, one of the largest cicada broods, Brood X, is emerging after 17 years below the ground.
