Lisa’s Adventure Club: Lake Tahoe (0:00:00) Welcome Back to Lisa’s Adventure Club! I’m sure you have many destinations on your wish-list like Rome, the Swiss Alps, or Hawaii. But, not all of our adventures need to be on the other side of the word. I’ve got a place that’s a short drive or plane ride away that you should consider adding to your destination list: Lake Tahoe! This large, freshwater lake is right on the state line between Nevada and California, but even if you aren’t from that region of the world, this beautiful natural wonder is worth the adventure. Joining us to help us plan a trip to this beautiful lake is Director of Communications for North Lake Tahoe, Liz Bowling. THON (0:19:41) Do you ever feel that you want to make a difference but that your impact wouldn’t be big enough if you tried? That thought never stopped the students of Penn State University in 1973 when they held a dance marathon to raise money for a cause. Since 1973 this dance marathon known as THON has become the world’s largest student-run charity having raised more than $168 million to raise awareness for childhood cancer! Today we’re talking with Regina Duesler about this inspiring event and how we all can make an impact in our own communities. With people spending more and more money on extravagant dates, it’s no surprise that the younger generations’ perception of dating has changed along with its dating culture. With big dates considered the norm and simple dates, like getting ice cream, happening less and less, our kids are struggling to find the fun in dating, let alone date at all. After hearing about the terrible dating culture among college students at Brigham Young University, Dr. Tom Robinson, a professor at BYU, began researching why people have skewed perspectives on dating.
