The story of Goldilocks is well known and well-loved. However, this legend has changed drastically over the many years it’s been told. For instance, Goldilocks was not always seen as a blonde, rude child with no manners. At first, she was an old lady with silver hair! However, an author named Joseph Cundall decided that there were already too many villains who were old ladies and thus changed Goldilocks into a child. What made her hair gold happened in 1868, when a popular children’s book changed her hair color to gold and it’s stuck around ever since. Today, we’ll enjoy a fun retelling of Goldilocks by Fran Yardley called, “The Bee Thrares, a Tary Fale”.
