American Blacks, Latinos, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders were three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as American Whites were. That is one stark example of the health disparities that exist in America. Lisa Cooper, founder and director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Equity, a trailblazer for equality in healthcare, and author of the new book “Why Are Health Disparities Everyone’s Problem?,” explains why such health disparities aren’t just a problem for minorities; they’re EVERYONE’S problem.
