Black Racecar Driver

Despite NASCAR being a sport based in the American South and dominated by white men and white fans, Bill Lester was the first Black driver in twenty years to get all the way to NASCAR's elite series in the early 2000s. Even now there's only one Black driver at NASCAR's top level, but things are changing quickly in the sport. Bill Lester has a new memoir out called “Winning in Reverse.”
