Continuing our Christmas theme, today in the studio we have 6 Miles Ahead, an ensemble that performs all across the Wasatch Front. They perform for us jazzed-up renditions of both traditional holiday favorites like Silent Night and a few not-so-traditional pieces too! 6 Miles Ahead was formed in 2002 by Kristie Arnold, and just months after its creation it received first place at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho.  Host Steven Kapp Perry interviews each member of the group and asks some really fun questions such as, ‘What’s a Christmas song you can’t do without?’ and ‘Who’s your favorite reindeer?’  6 Miles Ahead’s debut CD is called “Out of the Blue." Performers: Kristie Arnold, Kate Plewe, Hayley Singley Kirkland, Alex MacLean and James Marshall.  Repertoire: Let It Snow!; I Hear Music -- Frank Loesser and Burton Lane; You Grow Sweeter As the Years Go By – John Mercer arr. Craig Larson; Jing-a-Ling, Jing-a-Ling; Chili Con Carne – The Real Group; Silent Night – arr. Lars Yorgason; Winter Wonderland; Oh Come All Ye Faithful; Santa Clause Is Coming to Town;  Follow Highway 89 on twitter @byuh89
