Internships are a great way for students to get experience and network before working professionally. Many of these internships are unpaid, however, so there’s a divide between students who can afford to forgo pay to reap the benefits and those who can’t. Matthew Hora–director of the Center for Research on College-Workforce Transitions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison–argues that now is the time to end unpaid internship.
