Mother Theresa once said, “We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.”  Just as Mother Theresa found God in silence, we may each find a connection to higher power through our own means, and through our own cultures and backgrounds.  Today on the Apple Seed, we’ll be reflecting on our relationship to deity, or the environments we draw strength from. We’ll begin today with “Mantis and the Moon” by Charlotte Blake-Alston, followed by “A Cowboy’s Prayer” by Linda Goodman. Brian Ellis will then share with us “Frog and Locust Make It Rain,” after which we’ll enjoy “Verdant Groves and Evergreen” by Diane Edgecomb, “The Holua Sled Race” by Alton Chung, and a song “As Far as God Will Let Me” by yours truly.  On today’s episode, enjoy the following: “Mantis and the Moon” by Charlotte Blake-Alston “A Cowboy’s Prayer” by Linda Goodman “Frog and Locust Make It Rain” by Brian Ellis “Verdant Groves and Evergreen” by Diane Edgecomb “The Holua Sled Race” by Alton Chung “As Far as God Will Let Me” by Sam Payne
