In 2012 the American Veterinary Medical Association reported that about 30% of U.S. households have cats and about 36% have dogs. That’s a lot of kibble and litter! Jessica Pierce, Ph.D., is talking with us today about how those pets, especially cats, communicate with us and what they understand. Jessica Pierce is a bioethicist and the author of four books on the sociology of pets. Her most recent book is Unleashing Your Dog: A Field Guide to Giving Your Canine Companion the Best Life Possible. It will be released in February, 2019.
