Humor in Tragedy (0:00) If you’ve watched the news lately—and by lately I mean in the last ten years—then you’ve been bombarded with stories of trauma and tragedy. With so much devastation around us, we turn to different sources of comfort, be it religion, family, schoolwork, anything. But there is one source of healing that may not immediately come to mind: comedy. To talk about how humor can help, we’re talking to comedian and motivational speaker Judy Carter. Holidays Through Divorce (12:10) It seems like the holidays are made for families. Parents take their kids trick or treating. The whole family sits at one table for Thanksgiving Dinner. Everyone goes to Grandma’s house for Christmas Eve. But for a lot of recently divorced people the holidays are just a painful reminder of what used to be.
